Eurohoops Academy started a new season through Eurohoops Camps | Back To School Edition. Eurohoops Dome once more welcomed dozens of young and older kids from various clubs across Attica. FUNdamentals Camp, Junior Shooting Camp, and Shooting Lab proved the perfect warmup for a new adventure of knowledge, development, and fun. The specialized training program, the qualified training staff, the state-of-the-art equipment, and, of course, the presence of Theo Papaloukas, all turned returning to the courts into a physically, technically, and mentally empowering experience!

FUNdamentals Cam

The most characteristic program, inspiring the Eurohoops Academy philosophy, drew the center of the attention in the latest edition of Eurohoops Camps as well. Endless games and athletic development in a perfect pairing on the training plan, exciting the kids. The visit, advice, and playing with EuroLeague Legend Theo Papaloukas were the bonus.

Junior Shooting Camp

The younger athletes developed shooting techniques through a training plan adapted to their level, combining improvement with the joy of the game. The innovative program of Eurohoops Camps helped the kids learn to shoot well and correctly, under the helpful guidance of the legend of European basketball.

Shooting Lab

The most advanced activity of Eurohoops Camps | Back To School Edition saw aspiring athletes developing their shooting skills and getting in shape for the new season. The intensive and high-quality plan allowed the participants to practice shoot execution in all possible situations. Dr. Dish Shooting Machine was the favorite part of the workout for everyone!

From the end of June and for five weeks the Eurohoops Dome will host the innovative Eurohoops Camps | Summer Edition. The start of summer basketball season will begin on June 26 and conclude on July 28, with each of the five periods (6/26-30, 7/3-7, 7/10-14, 7/17-21, 24-28/7) being a five-days feast full of unique basketball experiences!

FUNdamentals Camp | Summer Edition: Play and learn the fundamentals of basketball!

FUNdamentals Camp is revamped with the goal of giving even more moments of fun and sports development. The program is aimed at boys and girls (ages 6 to 12) and lasts four hours daily (10:00 – 14:00).

The training plan includes exercises, through which kids learn the basic principles of the sport and improve their skills. At its core, it includes games and activities aimed at developing two-player and three-player collaboration, transmitting the spirit of cooperation and strengthening physical fitness. The ultimate goal is for children to discover the magic of basketball and to love sports!

The daily program also includes a break for a nutritious snack, which is offered by the Eurohoops Academy. The FUNdamentals Camp | Summer Edition includes the possibility to extend the children’s stay in the Eurohoops Dome facility for additional hours in the morning (08:00 – 10:00) and in the afternoon after training (14:00 – 17:00).

Shooting Camp | Summer Edition: Improve your shot and your percentages!

The secrets of the “art of shooting” are revealed at the Shooting Camp. In the innovative training program of the Eurohoops Academy, athletes have the opportunity to learn to shoot correctly, through a series of specialized exercises, adapted to various conditions of the game. Shooting Camp participants will also train with the help of the Dr.Dish Shooting Machine, elevating the entire training experience. The drill emphasizes the practice of receiving the ball, the rhythm, and mechanics of the execution, as well as the combination of movements for the ideal application of the shot in match conditions.

The program is suitable for athletes over 6 years of age and will last from 14:15 to 15:15.

Dribbling Lab | Summer Edition: Take your dribbling to another level!

The Dribbling Lab – the ideal training plan to improve ball handling for boys and girls (ages 12 to 18).

The emphasis on specialization, the high intensity of training, and the targeted standard exercise program create a plan based on which aspiring athletes can develop the technical skill of dribbling in any format. The training program includes ball handling exercises, with the aim of giving the athlete the skill, but also the confidence, to put the ball on the floor with purpose and cope with high defensive pressure. At the same time, he will be taught how the dribbling skill will help him attack, while he will understand when and how to use the different types of dribbling.

The program will be two hours long and will take place at two different times each day (12:00-14:00 or 15:30-17:30).

The training program of the Eurohoops Camps has the signature of the Technical Director of the Eurohoops Academy, Konstantinos Meletis, a pioneer in the development of specialized training plans in technique and position with almost 20 years of experience in specialized training plans of individual technique and corresponding basketball camps, while it will be implemented by the experienced coaching staff of Eurohoops Academy.

For participation in the Eurohoops Camps | Summer Edition each athlete must present a medical certificate or an athlete’s health card.

Throughout the camps’ duration, there will be supervision by a lifeguard, with the support of the Official Nutrition and Ergometry Sponsor BIOIATRIKI+.

Sportsmen and women from all over Athens, but also abroad, overwhelmed the  Eurohoops  Camps  | EASTER EDITION! Both in the 1st period during Holy Week, but also in the 2nd Period during Easter week, children regardless of level felt the Eurohoops Dome like their own basketball home. FUNdamentals  Camp, Shooting Camp, and the newest and most specialized,  Dribbling  &  Finishing  Lab, covered the needs and desires of all sportsmen and women, making them love basketball even more!

In the 1st Period, Eurohoops’ CSR Ambassador and great veteran basketball player Dimitris Papanikolaou surprised the children, as he visited them to take pictures and sign autographs. The Director of the Academy, Theodoros Papaloukas, of course, could not be absent from the side of the participants, since he was at the Eurohoops Dome both weeks.

The EuroLeague legend shared with them many of the “secrets” of basketball and inspired the most ambitious athletes with his supportive words. At the same time, he played with the youngest, proving in practice that basketball is and will always remain a game. Watch all the photos.

At the same time, all practice and game video streams will be provided to Eurohoops network of college coaches in United States. FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis visited the Eurohoops Dome during his recent stay in Athens, Greece for the 2022 Christmas vacation. He was given a tour of the facilities by Eurohoops Academy Director and EuroLeague legend Theo Papaloukas.

Papaloukas, together with Eurohoops Managing Partner Konstantinos Papaloukas and Chief of Operations Lefteris Moutis, received Zagklis at the premises of the organization. Before touring the Eurohoops Dome facilities, Zagklis presented Papaloukas with a collectible scrapbook of FIBA’s 90-year anniversary.

Zagklis visited all areas of the gym, watched the practices and had discussions about important matters regarding youth basketball. By seeing the young athletes of the Eurohoops Academy, Theo Papaloukas and Andreas Zagklis recalled their own first basketball experiences.

The Scoring Lab includes a specialized drill program covering all possible execution styles: shots and lay-ups, perimeter and off-the-rack finishes, off-the-dribble, and on-the-spot. In addition, young players will practice execution after exiting the screen, as well as movements to avoid an opponent and create distance to execute a shot working with a state-of-the-art Shooting Machine of Dr. Dish, with drills designed by NBA coaches. The training program has been designed by the Technical Director of Eurohoops Academy, Konstantinos Meletis, based on the modern philosophy and recent studies of world basketball, and will be implemented by the experienced training staff.

The Scoring Lab is a full eight-day program (12/27 – 12/30 and 1/2 – 5/1 | 12:00 – 14:00). Interested athletes can attend it in its entirety, but they can also choose only one of the two four-day events.

All participants of The Scoring Lab will also receive a collectible Eurohoops T-Shirt to keep them inspired to strive for basketball greatness!

For even more skill improvement during the holidays, participants can choose the Improve Your Skills and Shooting Camp!

For participation in Eurohoops Camps | XMAS EDITION each athlete must present a medical certificate or athlete health card.

Throughout the camp duration, medical staff will be present thanks to the support of the Official Sponsor of Nutrition and Ergometry BIOIATRIKI+.

With a desire to help refugees desperately in need, given the unprecedented state of Ukraine, two brothers used their love for basketball to fuel a fundraising idea. They called it “3’s for Ukraine”.

The brothers rallied together with fellow hoopers and sold made 3-point shots for $3 and made free-throws for $1. The boys set an initial lofty goal of raising $500. The story then caught fire. Soon, they had more shots sold than they could count and they needed help. We brought Benjamin, Nathaniel and their team into our Dish Lab shooting academy back on March 12th, and in eight hours they got up nearly 1,500 free throws and more than 3,600 3-pointers, contributing to over $35,000 in donations!

The Butler Bulldogs and the Loyola Marymount Lions visited Greece and Italy during their summer tour and both teams used the Eurohoops Dome for practices and prep games while staying in Athens in the first days of August.
